Winter has finally arrived here in San Diego and when I was pulling out my sweaters that I had packed away clean last year they smelled a bit musty. I didn’t want to have to wash them all again so I made this all natural linen and fabric spray; because DIYing and green living are best friends. I’ve been loving this spray and have been using it on everything like my sweaters, the bed lines and couch non stop.
It’s so easy and cheap to make, best of all it’s perfectly safe to spray in your home. It actually helps improve your indoor air quality. Having healthy indoor air is a must in a green home and becomes harder to maintain in the Winter.
There are many factors that can help or hurt your indoor air quality; from the amount and types of indoor plants you have to the kind of paint that is on your walls (check out this past blog post I wrote on this). By not spraying conventional air fresheners and fabric sprays like Febreze you can really help keep your indoor air healthy. These conventional sprays are full of harmful chemicals and plastic fragrances you do not want to be breathing in your home. This DIY spray is effective and safe, the best of both worlds, no musty smelling sweaters and healthy indoor air.
Check out the video below to find out how to make your own DIY linen spray and to learn more about indoor air quality.
